Karen Chisari1701264184Very very disappointed with this company. They do not respond to calls or emails. Paid them a reasonable amount of money for their services which they are yet to fulfill. We acknowledge part of the delay has been our fault but several emails and messages have not been responded to and we have since found the info they asked us to obtain ( which caused our delay) is not actually required to finalise our matter. Would definitely not recommend them.They have since responded to my review denying my allegations. If only they had responded to our calls to them as quickly as they did to this review, this probably would have been a favorable review. In response to their comments about my review I can show how many emails have never been replied to,I can prove that we endeavored to contact them twice 2 weeks ago ( once via email and once telephonically) to no avail . As this was a repetitive pattern across the 9 odd months we have been dealing with them , we gave up and fortunately engaged a different certifier. This certifier ( for a fraction of the charges quoted by DG certifiers) and without any of the hoops we were told we would have to complete, has our project certified, the Form 21 had been issued and lodged at Council. All this was done in less than 2 weeks, at a fraction of the fees DG Certifiers wanted us to pay over and above what we have already paid them. When I read some of their other recent reviews, the complaints about high charges and calls never being returned are prevalent so I am not the only with a low opinion of the service provided

We engaged in April to get nowhere - 2.5k later only to get back less than $600 after disengagement -won’t return calls, I was only ever able to speak with Darryl once in 5 months !- forget Debbie she will never call you back - if your lucky Darrly might send you an over complicated long winded condescending email that is not helpful - he acts like you owe him - condescending in his tone and attitude to be told I’m not here to help you I am here like a teach giving out assignments - he fails to realise he is engaged to provide a service to assist people with certification. I disengaged in Sept - hired a new certifier my garage has now had its final !- all done within 2 weeks of engagement of a new certifier -my deck and pool has progressed to council - I wasted 5 months - I wish I had read the below comments before I engaged
Wolfgang Beck1690539486I had a bad experience as well.I don't understand why so many people give them 5 stars; maybe those people are already used to the building approval process.In my case, I explained at the beginning that I'm not a professional and might need assistance to go through the process.At the beginning, the response was fast and friendly.Later on, when I paid fully and supplied drawings and other requirements, I received a cryptic pdf file table telling me the drawings and other documents they needed (hard to understand if you are a newbie).I faced the same problem that other people mentioned in the review. I couldn't get any feedback.I always failed on the firewall, 'Debbie'.Later on, I finally got a chance to have a phone call with Darryl.This was when I finally got the information on what exactly I needed to do.The time past was nearly a year then. After 3 months, I've gotten all the drawings and certificates and sent them to Debbie.After 10 business days, I still got no response. This was enough; I cannot work with someone with this attitude, so I filed a disengagement form.This is what Darryl wrote in an EMail to me, among other criticisms:"We are not responsible to educate and advise the applicant on all processes involved, as that is solely the applicant’s responsibility to properly inform themselves."Well if you need additional support from your certifier because you are not a pro, this might not the right one for you.I got refunded only AUD 1,413.26 from AUD 3,135.97 but anyway, I thought, if I didn't change the certifier, the project would not be successful.Now I'm working with a very awesome private certifier who always answers the phone, is friendly, and goes through all the steps with me.I made so much more progress with him that I completed all the requirements in just 3 months.To DG Certifier, I can only say, Change your attitude!Don't just take the money and set the paid customer down on the priority list.Help your customers, be responsive, and educate them along the way if they need it.You will end up with very good reviews, and happy customers are the best advertisement you can get.This is my response from DG Certifiers comment on 28/07/2023:It seems you missed the point greatly.I'm not saying that I'm an experienced builder and made no mistake,I was looking for a certifier who could really help an unexperienced client.It is quite disappointing that you are not seeing the issue here.I was definitely NOT resistant to providing your information; in fact, I did not know what I had to do even after trying to get more information from you.Your documents do not prove the fact that you've not given feedback or assistance for a long time, but I have EMails that can prove that.This is where the time was wasted! I did not know anything about the status of my application. No feedback was given to me, even after asking multiple times. The only way I found out was by contacting the council.Again, treat your client better and provide them with assistance.
Lachlan Crutchfield1690526102We paid 2.4k to certify 2 decks, and currently we are 0/2. One deck is tied up with an appeal through council and I don't blame Daryl for, but his conduct on deck number 2 got to the point where the relationship was untenable. When things got difficult with council Daryl just threw it back at me to chase up information that wasn't really attainable. This got to the point where I needed to hire a town planner to translate the council's poor communication, and Daryl's lengthy circular emails.Ultimately, we ended up in a position where Daryl wanted historical data showing approval on a fence that had nothing to do with the application for deck 2 (a small deck to boundary). The council agreed with me that it wasn't relevant, as did the town planner. Ultimately after weeks of back and forth we hired another certifier who also agreed it wasn't relevant and promptly resolved the issue in less than a week but the 2.4k we spent on D&G Certifiers is gone. This whole saga was just too bloody hard.*in response to the comment below, I was refunded $200 "in line with their refund policy" of course... And I spent hours jumping through hoops for Daryl, but once you solved one problem he came up with a new one. His response validates my comments anyway in his tone and admission he wanted me to contact council for irrelevant written comments about unrelated developments, so I will leave it at that.

Wouldn't respond to my emails and when I mentioned the process seemed to be taking quite a while, he immediately sent a threatening abusive email indicating he would make me pay the consequences by delaying the approval. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES USE THIS TYRANT

She would then quote me and tell me the process. I did not receive a response. I then called the office, and was told someone would call me back. No one did. I called again, I was told that a message would be left with Debbie to call me back - no one did. Why ask me to submit anything in the first place? Or have the manners to call back and say I am not interested to quote. What a disgrace.
